The newly announced version of Parallels for the M1 chip does not emulate x86 code, and does not run x86 based OSes when run on Apple’s M1 chip. It WILL run WindowsOnArm, which has a well developed x86 emulation, but a still-in-development x64 emulation.

Dec 03, 2020 · Revit for new Apple M1 Macs I use Revit in a virtual Windows machine on my mac. I'm thinking of replacing my MacBook with a new generation one, but because Apple has created their own M1 chips, its not possible to run virtual windows anymore. It's a pity, these new chips seem very powerful and efficient.

I'm very pleased to report that yes, Revit not only runs on the new M1 MacBook Pro, it screams! As does everything else you throw at this laptop. Below is a series of images showing the setup process with Revit running and Kinship working. The installation couldn't have been easier.

Oct 28, 2021 · A quick stream using Revit on the new MacBook Pro M1 Max with 64GB of RAM using Parallels 17. The tl;dr version: it works! And it works pretty well. Definitely works well enough to do actual work on. However, for the price, it doesn’t work THAT well. And perhaps some/most of the reason why it feels that way is because of the slight lag.

I've been using the same MacBook Pro 13" Retina since the end of 2012, the very first day they came out. Not really no. Revit as a whole really needs to run on a x86 architecture, and while ARM processors can emulate that, it's not a 1:1 replacement.
