You will note in the reference citation that speak is from the OED2 in 1989, whereas talk is from the OED3 in 2001. Maybe because I'm a bit old fashioned and somewhat traditional, I almost find it jarring to hear speak with instead of speak to, but I know that's just me reacting to my own ideolect.
