Lovecraftian horror is the horror of the unknown, the questions that will never be answered. So now we get to Cars 2, and from this point, there will inevitably be some SPOILERS (though I will mostly attempt to be vague). At the start of the movie, lemon cars arrive, and we seem to be completely irrelevant to them.

Yeah, I agree with this guy. If you saw it the other way around it would be a terrible experience. Seeing the English remake really takes away from the Japanese original. Thousands of people have made the mistake of seeing the English one first and then deciding to see the original. God rest those poor souls, subjected to seeing two movies in the wrong order.

A weird mishmash of the Japanese obsession with recorded images and the Hollow Earth theories of H.P. Blavatsky. And, a newer film I don't know where it's been released so far, but I saw Miike's new(ish) movie Over Your Dead Body at the AFI Fest last year and was hugely impressed by it. It puts him back in Audition mode, with a movie that is largely a drama with some weird extreme moments around the edges, that slowly descends into madness before fully embracing chaos for the end.

Horror movies generally don’t scare me, but Pulse was quite unsettling. ColdFusion1988 • 4 yr. ago. Pulse is both scary and depressing and just a top notch film. OZ_the_GOD • 4 yr. ago. Kairo and Ju-On / The Grudge (Pretty standard picks, I know). Pulse was scary in a sad kind of way, but my god I don't think there's anything in horror history that scares me as much as Kayako from Ju-On.
