Dec 02, 2012 · The biggest drawback in my mind with Revit for Residential projects is that you're more likely to be working with engineers who aren't using Revit, so the potential colaboration and coordination of Revit is lost. You'll likely have to model all the structural and mechanical stuff yourself, which is likely to come directly out of your pocket.

1.12.2012 · It is good for residential new build work. For small alteration jobs I would suggest stick with Autocad LT as Revit can prove a bit frustrating. 18.4.2010 · I'm in a very similar situation to you. I mostly do residential as well, and for much of my computer drafting life I've worked in older versions of AutoCad LT. I recently "bet the farm" and migrated up to the Revit Architecture Suite (Revit, AutoCad, and AutoCad Architecture). I'm currently using the ACA to remain on top of my current projects.
