Fusion360 is a great choice for 3D printing. It has lots of features that compete with expensive software.. but is free! One thing though - you will have a hard time scultping or designing organic objects. For instance - if you want to design a cat or a dog or a human shape you'll have a hard time.

As far as free CAD packages go, of the many I have tested, Fusion 360 is by far my favorite and is certainly a great tool to learn. After graduating, do you know what industry you would like to work with ideally or what role you would like to play in your career? I ask because different industries tend to utilize different CAD packages.
