From when I worked in a post office local the Parcel force man would come round daily, scan any parcels out, and take them with him. Now, I know you didn't take it to a Post office but if parcel force arent seeing it in their system then its still at the royal mail site. Get in there and raise hell. They accepted it, they lost it.
