No, still requires x86 processors at the moment. With there only being a handful of ARM windows machines as of now, its probably going to be a while before that gets official support. I don't know if anyone has tried running the Surface pro X with the 64bit emulation layer for MATLAB.

FYI MATLAB isn't natively supported on Apple's new ARM chips yet. It runs through the Rosetta translation environment which may be why you're seeing poor performance compared with your iMac which runs on Intel processors. I don't run MATLAB on a Mac, but I wouldn't think the M1 Max would be much better than the M1 Pro.

Jun 29, 2021 · So far MATLAB is simply running as intended and seems to handle large numerical inverses that push MATLAB to 29 GB of ram usage better than the prior intel MB Pro. The times required for calculations tend to be nearly a wash - within 20-30% - even with this non-native version. It has not crashed.

I don't know. To me the M1 seems very impressive for the price and benchmarking vs. most Intel CPUs it comes out really well. But so does AMD. Compared to the high end it's gets stomped for multicore tasks in particular. And the question was if the M1 is better than all the current AMD / Intel lineup, which it's absolutely is not.

It's almost always the 2D and 3D scores that hits Macs on the Matlab benchmark. The breakdown shows good gains elsewhere.
