Eckbeck is one of our "go to" campgrounds on the north shore. There are no reservations. You pay via an envelope with cash, check, or card. On the weekends it can fill up in the summer. If Eckbeck is full there's another state forest campground "Finland Campground" just around the corner which is also a nice place to stay.
