It's easier there than using the extension. Practically, this extension has a better use on other Chromium-based browsers that have been de-Googled (but supports Chrome Web Store), like Vivaldi.

Right-click -> Google Translate opens in a new tab and does work fine, and is the only way I can consistently use the extension. This is with Chrome version 76.0.3809.100 (Official Build) (64-bit).
